Throughout 2019, James visited three Ghost towns that were left abandoned in the desert, Kilmanskop, Elizabeth Bay, Al Madam - in this talk we look at challenges he faced along the path to capturing beautiful shots. by Dr Rachael Hamp of the Open University. Rachael is a chemist originally and her PhD was on determining geochemical cycles in Enceladus' subsurface using modelling and simulations. Rachael is currently working on a post doctorate on making extraterrestrial ices.
Sean Karley is running a series of talks about The Plant Kingdom. He will cover all aspects of Botany.
During the next couple of months we will be entering a number of local inter-club competitions. Tonight we will review recent members' competition entires and select a number of them to enter. A good opportunity to see a selection of our members' recent work.
Including a rare opportunity to use some of our Victoriana microscopes and examine a variety of slides from the NNHS's extenisve collection of microscope slides on a vast range of subjects. All welcome.
We meet fortnightly to work on the Society's collections, cleaning and sorting them and making databases to facilitate use of them. No previous experience needed, all are welcome. Come and have a real "hands-on" pleasure with some fascinating objects.
As part of the Great Big Green Week we will look at changes in our weather over the last 150 years as recorded by the members of the Northamptonshire Natural History Society in their gardens both great and small. This meeting will be held in the Humfrey Rooms.

Elizabeth Sharpe, a hydrogeologist and member of CIWEM will talk about the challenges that climate change poses to our water resources nationally and globally. What can we do to make a difference? This talk is an update on the talk given to the Society by Elizabeth in October 2021. It will be on zoom and is hosted by West Northamptonshire, Links will be provided on their Facebook Page. We will be joining in from the Humfrey Rooms.
