2023 marks the 75th anniversary of when HMT Empire Windrush docked at Tilbury on 22 June 1948 bringing one of the first large groups of West Indian immigrants. A significant number of West Indians made their way from London to live and work in Northampton. This digital exhibition tells the story of those who arrived in the 1950s and later.

The Eccentric Englishman will be 'in the pink' at its St Giles Street Tea Rooms & Bar, on Wednesday 9th August, as Lady Muck plays host to a very special Afternoon Tea in aid of "Breast Cancer Now', the UK's leading breast cancer charity. Not only will you be able to dive into Lady Muck's delicious, and most generous, Afternoon Teas but we're holding a magnificent Raffle with some simply glorious prizes, generously donated by local businesses. Sessions to introduce rhymes and songs to your child to encourage interaction and develop communication skills. Please note that the Bounce and Rhyme sessions will be run on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day and it will not be possible to book in advance. This event is running at a reduced capacity to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers. Parents and Carers can collect a ticket from the front desk on the Friday morning at 10am. This event is for under 1s and non-walkers only.

Jazz & Blues has become a firm favourite mid-week treat for local music lovers. We have been lucky enough to welcome a whole host of talented musicians to the Bradlaugh stage as part of our Jazz & Blues night, including the Ginger Pig Band and rising star Beau Holland (not long returned from a tour supporting Bastille in The States!)
