Northampton Musical Theatre Company continue to build on the success of Calendar Girls, Made In Dagenham and Shrek, and are delighted to bring their fantastic new production of Kinky Boots to the stage. With wonderful music by Cyndi Lauper, this tale about a struggling shoe factory, based on a true story, will lift your spirits and have you dancing in your seats. NMTC are once again proud to be making the Derngate auditorium their home for Kinky Boots, coinciding with its 40th birthday year.

The police won’t take the case so Hugh calls in Perry & Penny Pink, private investigators. What transpires has all the hallmarks of multi-award-winning New Old Friends particular brand of theatrical hilarity: a cast of four performers play countless characters with quick-fire changes and quicker wits. Expect mirth, murder and mayhem, with a side of tennis. Crimes On Centre Court, based on a story from the award-winning podcast (#2 in iTunes fiction chart), toured to great acclaim in 2021 and is an ace of a show which you’re sure to (fifteen) love. New Documents of the De-colonial: an Interactive Screening with Kojo Koram, Morgan Quaintance & Shepherd Manyika

As part of Northampton’s Black History Month programming, NN Contemporary Art And the Northamptonshire Black History Association present a thought-provoking evening in conversation with acclaimed writer and academic Kojo Koram, critic and artist/filmmaker Morgan Quaintance, and artist and educator Shepherd Manyika. Taking place at Northampton Filmhouse on 27th October, with support from The Royal & Derngate, the evening will explore the intersection of contemporary political strategies and aesthetic practices, featuring an interactive screening, readings, and discussions around decolonization in contemporary culture. Proposing the Black Archives as a tool for contemporary activist practice, through diverse perspectives, the event will delve into evolving anti-colonial discourse by examining different approaches to filmmaking and personal narrative as material to engage with structures of power and class. The event aims to be a platform for open dialogue and exchange, meshing traditional socio-political and cultural categories. It seeks to provoke thought, ignite conversation, and explore interdisciplinary strategies for contemporary art and activism through filmmaking and critical practice.
