The training shoe has been around for over 100 years but in the last 50 years it has developed into a multibillion dollar global industry. In this exhibition we take a closer look at the design, technology, cultural influences and environmental impact of the trainer and showcase our own trainer collection, the largest owned by a public institution.

This exhibition, for all ages, explores the processes artists go through to produce their work and the techniques they employ. Technique provides an opportunity to look beyond the artist and subject matter and gain a greater understanding into how artworks are created across a variety of media. On display will be a wide cross-section of works from our Fine Art collection including drawings, prints oil paintings, sculpture and watercolours as well as key pieces from our collections of Textile Art and Studio Pottery

Northampton Town and County Art Society are delighted to be able to return to Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.  Thankfully with the return to normality, the 105th Annual exhibition will be Open, so as well as Members and Associate Members exhibiting, this exhibition will also include a selection of Non-Members work, allowing visitors a chance to see the wide variety of styles and subjects that such a group show offers.

Bounce and Rhyme at Northamptonshire Central Library

Sessions to introduce rhymes and songs to your child to encourage interaction and develop communication skills. Please note that the Bounce and Rhyme sessions will be run on a first-come, first-serve basis on the day and it will not be possible to book in advance. This event is running at a reduced capacity to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers. Parents and Carers can collect a ticket from the front desk on the Friday morning at 10am. This event is for under 1s and non-walkers only.

An evening of 60s classics performed by the Sounds Of The ’60s All Star Band & Singers, hosted by Radio 2’s legendary DJ, Tony Blackburn. The show features stories and songs from the most loved decade. Every week, more than a million people tune in to BBC Radio 2 to hear Tony Blackburn wax lyrical about the biggest stars of the ’60s.

Jazz & Blues has become a firm favourite mid-week treat for local music lovers. We have been lucky enough to welcome a whole host of talented musicians to the Bradlaugh stage as part of our Jazz & Blues night, including the Ginger Pig Band and rising star Beau Holland (not long returned from a tour supporting Bastille in The States!) Come down and enjoy authentic sounds, friendly faces and a warm atmosphere. Every Wednesday from 8.30pm. Free Entry.

One Night of Elvis

Lee Memphis King, Europe’s most successful Elvis Presley tribute artist, recreates the essence of the King with consummate ease and an almost unbelievable combination of stunningly accurate vocals and incredible passion in every performance. Over the last 10 years as Lee has toured his ‘One Night of Elvis’ he has picked up numerous accolades and has headlined and sold out some of the most prestigious venues across the UK and beyond. In August 2016 he completed a sell out concert tour of Israel, performing to over 8000 fans. In this latest production, Lee Memphis King portrays Elvis Presley at his peak celebrating the iconic ‘Vegas Years’ from 1969 – 1977.
