Join us for the heats of this year’s Dancing Schools UK Northamptonshire! This is the 10th year of this fabulous Ballroom and Latin dance event designed to encourage school children from across the region to have a try at dancing and nurture team work. From its early days as Strictly Junior, the show has now evolved to Dancing Schools UK and seen over 3000 children having braved the stage, stepped out into the spotlight and done something they never thought they would do – dance in front of hundreds of people.
Award-winning comedy curators Upfront are back with a heavyweight international line up to guarantee belly laughs. The phenomenal Stephen K Amos is joined by fun and fiery Sukh Ojla and London-Irish gangster John Ryan, with host comedian turned Teletubbie, John Simmit.
Comedy legends Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan join forces to split the bill and your sides with a night of comedy stand-up and impressions. The two masters of comedy present a show of pure laughter and entertainment that is not to be missed. When the pair first teamed up for a one-off festival appearance it proved a match made in comedy heaven. The chance to work together was too good to miss. Splitting the evening between them, the mix of Jasper’s inimitable stand up and Alistair’s peerless impressions is a terrific experience for audience and artists alike. Don’t miss this chance to see Jasper Carrott, the godfather of British comedy, and Britain’s leading comedy impressionist Alistair McGowan at the top of their game, having a blast and delighting audiences in their unique ways.
The Power of the Portrait is an exhibition that looks at the relevancy of portraiture in the age of the selfie and social media. Visitors can explore how they see themselves and how others see them. Using selected portraits from the collection of Northampton Museums and Art Gallery, and supported by works from the National Portrait Gallery, visitors will be encouraged to contemplate their own sense of identity, self, and place in the world. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Art Fund.
Listen to 15 – 20 seconds bursts of toe-tapping, shoulders bouncing and bums wiggling songs linked to a theme.
The numbers on your sheet have been replaced with either the artist and song name or noise creator (things get WILD when it’s the animal theme) . Get your dabber at the ready and dab away to win some every random prizes.
Every week you get the opportunity to go against your friends or our AWESOME Playhouse team in our Games Garage or Lucky Pucks area so, let the games continue into the night.

We aim to bring people together to read, share stories and have fun. We use reading – whether books, magazines, newspapers, or anything else – to start everyone chatting. Our Reading Friends group meets on the 3rd Wednesday every month at Northampton Central Library to talk about reading and anything else that interests them. You don’t have to read anything before the session and everyone is welcome so come along, meet new people and share stories together. No booking is required and you don’t have to be a library member to take part.
