These constructed scenes of everyday life – produced in collaboration with survivors – reflect the ambiguities and psychological manipulation that enable this crime to flourish.

NFF 2025 short films: Celebrating Identity (12A)

A selection of short films from documentary to drama, from Northampton and across the country, about people discovering themselves, celebrating their talents and finding their tribe. As well as the films, there will be a chance to discuss the films afterwards. The certificate of this screening is 12A. Doors open at 2pm. Delapre's cafe will be open throughout for refreshments. For the Coffee + Cake ticket, you can swap the coffee for tea or various soft drinks. A variety of cakes will be available on the day. All our venues are wheelchair accessible.

Anton Benson Productions return to The Old Savoy with their hilarious new Easter Pantomime… with no strings attached! Join Pinocchio as he sets off on his adventure to Fantasy Island, where he hopes to learn right from wrong and fulfil his dreams of becoming a real boy. But will he follow his conscience or will the wicked Stromboli have other plans? Starring Bobby Davro & Katie Price who will be joined by Kate Salmon, Ryan Greaves and Phyl Harries. There will also be a special guest appearance from Zippy & George from Rainbow!! Showtimes 3pm and 7pm

NFF 2025 Opening Gala + prosecco (18)

Join us on the red carpet at the beautiful Delapre Abbey to celebrate the start of Northampton Film Festival 2025. Watch a selection of films, from drama to documentary, comedy and animation, meet some of the filmmakers and also the NFF team. Each ticket includes a glass of prosecco (or a soft drink if you prefer). The Orangery cafe (with limited menu) and bar will be open throughout. Event photo from NFF 2024 by Simon Turner - expect a new red carpet moment for 2025! Doors 6.30pm. The films will show with an interval and time for a Q&A afterwards. The order of films may change. Seven months ago, Saba walked out of her GCSE mocks and didn’t come back. Her friends don’t understand why. Now, on prom night, Saba’s finally made contact, challenging her friends to track her down via a series of cryptic clues. But when the friends are finally reunited, Saba is different. The way she sees the world has changed. And what she’s asking of her friends… is it more than they can give? This new play written by Danusia Samal, directed by Anna Simpson, and performed by the Royal & Derngate Young Company, asks probing questions about the responsibility of the individual in a troubled globalised world, as well as growing up, growing apart, and how far should you go for what you think is right. The Young Company will also be performing Saba’s Swim as part of the National Theatre Connections Festival. Contemporary Stitched Textiles The Bassett-Lowke Rooms Sat 8 Mar 2025 - Sun 25 May 2025 An exhibition of Contemporary Stitched Art Textiles We are delighted to be hosting this new exhibition of textiles and mixed media work which has been created by the Visualise textile group. Visualise was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread. The exhibition will also feature work by internationally known textile artist and Embroiderers Guild member Nigel Cheney who is the current mentor to Visualise. On display is a diverse array of abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects which are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. The exhibition includes textile art inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and 78 Derngate itself, with framed and small items for sale. Combining a look round the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh House before visiting the exhibition, gardens and shop, followed by partaking of some drink or food in The Dining Room is the perfect way to spend a glorious few hours in Northampton...
