After barely surviving the pandemic, and with two years of pent up killer material, Paul tackles the UK’s handling of the pandemic, why the rules of six only worked for white people, fame, England football fans and Tom Cruise landing his helicopter in someone’s garden. The Royal & Derngate Community Choir are being supported by Northampton Community Foundation to tour some Christmas cheer in December 2022. This amazing group, led by local Musical Director Gareth Fuller, are putting their unique spin on well-loved Christmas songs and writing their own unique uplifting song, inspired by Northampton. The RDCC Christmas Cheer Tour will be an opportunity to spread happiness, to inspire and entertain and for the group to have their debut tour. We recognise how vital singing and community groups are to wellbeing and wish to celebrate what is good in the county and the town through song. The group have recorded and released a Christmas song with Greg Coulson and Gareth Fuller called Please Don’t Feel Alone At Christmas. You can listen to the song below.

Scene Unseen

Filmed by David Lefeber directed by James Dacre illustrations by Thomas Hicks. A cutting-edge new musical about identity, sexuality, and what makes us who we are. An hour-long song-cycle weaves a path from cabaret artist Jessica Walker‘s (Alone in Berlin) emotionally complex childhood right up to her very particular wedding day, with songs about early gender confusion, sexual assault, first love and betrayal, and family secrets. It is a powerful, personal story with universal themes, expressed through Atkins and Walker’s uncategorisable musical mix of humour, classicism, torch, and a touch of Eighties synth.
