Join us this March for an exhilarating evening of live theatre, featuring a series of unique abridged Shakespeare productions by local schools. See Shakespeare’s timeless stories brought to life like never before, and support young people from your community as they take to the stage. “Every child in every school ought to have the chance to experience this magical process” – Philip Pullman, author and CSSF patron. Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation is a cultural education charity, transforming lives through the unique power of Shakespeare. Our Festival provides a platform for up to 30,000 young people to express themselves and grow in confidence as they take to a professional stage. These performances are the culmination of months of work in which young people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities have been finding their voice in school rehearsal rooms.

We’ll be partying through the week with Irish craic and shamrockin’ entertainment at both our St Patrick’s Eve and St Pat’s Day parties. Contemporary Stitched Textiles The Bassett-Lowke Rooms Sat 8 Mar 2025 - Sun 25 May 2025 An exhibition of Contemporary Stitched Art Textiles We are delighted to be hosting this new exhibition of textiles and mixed media work which has been created by the Visualise textile group. Visualise was formed several years ago, by like-minded artists who enjoy creating diverse work with stitch as the common thread. The exhibition will also feature work by internationally known textile artist and Embroiderers Guild member Nigel Cheney who is the current mentor to Visualise. On display is a diverse array of abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects which are hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. The exhibition includes textile art inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and 78 Derngate itself, with framed and small items for sale. Combining a look round the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh House before visiting the exhibition, gardens and shop, followed by partaking of some drink or food in The Dining Room is the perfect way to spend a glorious few hours in Northampton...

This exhibition will look at how the industry has affected the lives of the people of Northamptonshire and beyond, not only through employment but providing hospitals, carnivals, days out and Christmas parties. It will explore the history of the biggest employers in Northamptonshire through personal stories and artefacts.
