Learn a historic quilting technique using simple stitches which can be used as a standalone technique, or in combination with other embroidery stitches, to add texture to your traditional or contemporary creations. In this workshop Sharn will briefly outline the history of corded quilting, including showing a 250-year-old example from the museum’s collection. She will then help participants produce a small sample in a ‘sew along’ session that can be used to make a Christmas card. The workshop will conclude with ideas of how to combine corded quilting with other sewing techniques and which designs work best.
This workshop is suitable for both people with limited stitch experience and more experienced embroiderers looking to add to their technique library. Booking essential.
