David Ross Education Trust (DRET): The Lost Words

Choirs from across the primary and secondary schools of the David Ross Education Trust (DRET) perform the UK premiere of James Burton’s The Lost Words, conducted by the composer. Inspired by the bestselling children’s book by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris, The Lost Words celebrates the
wonder of the natural world through a series of spell-poems, each describing a word in danger of disappearing from children’s language – acorn, dandelion, otter, bramble – and brings them to life again through song. This performance, suitable for all the family, will be accompanied by digital art created by pupils from DRET schools.
