This musical, based on the true story and the hit film Calendar Girls, is coming to Royal & Derngate in November. Having performed over 30 shows on the Derngate stage, including most recently Shrek The Musical and Made In Dagenham, Northampton Musical Theatre Company return once again to perform this heartwarming and funny story by Tim Firth, accompanied with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow. Othello RE:MX takes place in a post-apocalyptic, industrial setting. This much-shortened version of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy concentrates on the background of Othello and relationship between Othello and Iago. Things start to go wrong when Desdemona and Cassio appear on the scene and they all career towards a climactic finish through their dystopian setting against a backdrop of industrial electronic music, digital dreams and dark landscapes. The piece incorporates dance, poignant snippets of Shakespeare’s text, creative captions and BSL.
