A quick look at the latest research prediction, and the reality on the ground. This meeting will be held in the Humfrey rooms, guests welcome.
We meet fortnightly to work on the Society's Collections, cleaning and sorting them and making databases to facilitate use of them. No previous experience needed, all are welcome. come and have a real "hands-on" pleasure with some fascinating objects.
In association with BBC Radio Northampton. A special drop in all-day event, celebrating the life and work of Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek. There will be short videos, exhibitions and opportunities to use microscopes to explore the hidden world around us. This is a free event open to all members, friends and visitors to the Humfrey Rooms.
by Jane Clark PhD Physics 1981. Measure solar system objects and their movements for yourself. Asteroids and planets follow predictable paths where orbital parameters can be used to predict future possible collisions, a bit of maths might be needed, guests welcome.Â
Tracey will give us a showcase of images from her tour around the Falklland islands with some stories and experiences along the way. Tracey will be presenting by Zoom, but there will also be an opportunity to participate in the meeting in the Humfrey Rooms as normal.
Sue Barker will introduce us to the oceanographers and geologists including the under-recognised Marie Tharp who mapped the deep oceans providing the base map onto which plates and oceanic ridges were plottedÂ

A competition for members to submit pictorial images on any subject. Up to three projected images allowed per member per round.
Elizabeth Sharpe, a hydrogeologist and member of CIWEM will talk about the challenges that climate change poses to our water resources nationally and globally. What can we do to make a difference? This talk is an update on the talk given to the Society by Elizabeth in October 2021. It will be on zoom and is hosted by West Northamptonshire, Links will be provided on their Facebook Page. We will be joining in from the Humfrey Rooms. Â
