BACK TO BASICS – WIND. One time believed to be 'the breath of the gods’; we will look at what causes winds and what they can tell us. We will then have a go at measuring the local winds.

SPIDERS by Ian Wilson. Spiders have some fabulous adaptations to their hunting lifestyle. We will have a look at their structure and habits before studying slides in the Society’s collection to see some of those structures in detail. They also shed their exoskeletons so bring along any spider skins you find around the house or garden.

SPECIALISED INSECT BODY PARTS - SESSION 1 by Kevin Rowley. Insects are a huge and varied group of organisms with body parts specialised to many different functions. Kevin plans to show us how these can benefit the animals as well as how they can help us to identify what group various insects belong to.
PRINT COMPETITION - COLOUR AND MONOCHROME. This year, as agreed at the AGM, the competition will consist of a colour and a mono competition. Up to 4 entries per member per round for each of the competitions. Round 2 of 3.

We meet in the Spencer Percival foyer of the Guildhall. This is the entrance to the old part of the Guildhall by the public toilets and statue of Spencer Percival. Tour includes the Mayor's Shelid Gallery, the old Town Hall keepers living quarters and the basement cells.

Your chance to show the section observations you have made, equipment you are using or anything else that has interested you enough to share it with the section.
