Uncovering the history of Franklin’s Hotel and restaurant

The hotel and restaurant was built in 1872 on the site of what is now 9 Guildhall Road.
It was built to capitalise on new rail passengers arriving in Northampton at St John’s Street station, then located at the bottom of Guildhall Road.
