Northampton Town Centre BID, in partnership with NLive Radio, will be encouraging businesses to take part in this year’s fiver fest campaign, running from the 9th – 23rd October and will offer promotional support for those choosing to do so.
Fiver Fest is a national event for all independent retailers that is coming to Northampton, running from 9th October – 23th October. It was created by an organisation called “Totally Locally”.
The idea of the two-week campaign grew from the Totally Locally message showing the huge impact people spending £5 per week in local independent shops can have on our high streets.
In support of this, a specific webpage on our website has been created to home details of business offers, in which the public will be encouraged to visit.
Each business will be provided with a poster that can be displayed, allowing businesses to include specific details of their offer.
A radio campaign will be delivered by NLive Radio promoting the campaign and those businesses taking part and each business will receive promotional acknowledgement on social media.

What is Fiver Fest?
Fiver Fest is a free campaign designed by Totally locally, allowing towns and businesses to come together to get people supporting our Independent High Streets again.
It’s a chance for independent businesses to use their collective power to encourage people back to our town centres, to say thank you to customers who supported them during these testing times and to prove once again, that the small guys can compete with the online giants & the supermarkets. In fact, they beat them hands down in many ways, but most of all their contribution to our local economies.
We just ask that you look to this as not just promoting your own business, but promoting ALL the independent businesses in your town.

What a £5 offer is:
Offers should be something with a £5 spend to tie in with the £5 message, something discounted from a usual price of at least £7/8, but the bigger the discount the better!
Fiver Fest isn’t just for bricks and mortar businesses. Online-only and home and office-based businesses such as services, fitness, financial companies etc can also join in and if applicable offer introductory services to get new clients on board, or a £10 voucher for £5 etc.

What a £5 offer isn’t!
Fiver Fest works best when offers are a £5 spend to re-enforce your town’s £5 message. So please don’t use discounts e.g., £5 or 5% off. It’s all about getting great bargains for a fiver!
